Switchboard
Private project

All screenshots use entirely synthetic data: the accounts, names, projects, machine, serial number, times, and figures are invented for this package. None of it comes from real usage records.
I built Switchboard to run Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool, across more than one Anthropic account on the same computer. Each account has its own usage limits that reset on their own clocks. Whenever a Claude Code session starts, Switchboard checks how much each account has left and starts the session on one with room, following an order I set. It keeps the last 10% of each limit in reserve, so new sessions move to the next account before the current one runs out. The dashboard is drawn like studio rack gear: meters for each account, a knob that sets which account goes first, and a WHY button that explains the current decision in plain sentences. I can switch it between three hardware designs and check it from my phone through a password-protected copy. It is meant for anyone who uses Claude Code heavily under more than one plan.
Built with
- Python 3, standard library only (no third-party packages); runs on the Python 3.9 that ships with macOS, and on Linux
- Dashboard: one self-contained HTML and CSS page with inline SVG meters and no JavaScript, served by a small local Python web server on the computer itself
- Remote copy: a Node.js (22 or later) function with adapters for Vercel, Cloudflare, Netlify, or a self-hosted server; the page is stored encrypted (AES-GCM) behind a password sign-in
- Claude Code hooks, which keep oversized tool output out of the conversation and store it so it can be retrieved in full
- macOS Keychain (Linux: private files) for secrets; launchd (Linux: systemd) for scheduled jobs
- Optional integration with Maestro
- Automated tests with Python's `unittest` and Node's built-in test runner
- Version shown on the device badge: SB-1.0
